Real Estate At Lake Arrowhead
Lake Arrowhead Georgia GA
Background Information
Lake Arrowhead is nestled in the foothills of the mountains in Cherokee County, just outside the town of Waleska. The valley it is in and the community surrounding it was originally known by the local residents as "Lost Town". It was originally settled in 1840. Many descendants of the original pioneers still live in the town of Waleska.

Lake Arrowhead is Georgia's largest private lake at 540 acres with depths from 12 to 80 feet. It has 14 miles of shoreline and lengthwise measures about two miles. The lake's pool level remains constant throughout the year because it is not a power company lake, and is fed by a spring. It is owned by Purcell Co, and the community spans 8,200 acres. It boasts two marinas, and a new 6,500 sq. ft. clubhouse will be added to the golf course in the spring of 2007 to replace the old clubhouse. Lake Arrowhead is primarily a pontoon and ski boat lake, and jet ski's are not allowed.

Dr.ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition", was filmed at Lake Arrowhead in December 2006, and will be aired by ABC in March, 2007. The nearest town is Waleska, GA. It got it's name from Warluskee, the daughter of an Indian chieftain who lived in the area about 150 years ago. When she was removed to the West with the rest of her people, the Reinhardt's named their settlement in her honor.

It is a 45 minute drive to down town Atlanta, and makes an ideal getaway for a weekend of fun and relaxation. Amenities at the lake include a golf course, recreational center, chapel, bed and breakfasts, a private marina, hiking and nature trails and beautiful mountain and lake side homes.

The Lake Arrowhead Home Owners' Association website can be found at lahoa.net. Home Owners' Association dues vary from $90 a month for a vacant lot, to $130 a month for a finished home. This is THE best value for a gated community in Georgia offering these kind of amenities.Lake Arrowhead Golf Course
